Xc661 Cast 6'6'Ml Salmon and steelhead fishing grew up with 8'6" rods. In various actions and powers, the 8'6" offers an excellent combination of castability, line control and flex to successfully land large fish on light tackle. Tending to the shorter side, rod lengths less than 8'6" offer numerous advantages. First and foremost, a shorter rod provides increased leverage for moving fish.
