This book, a collection of three cult favorites, exemplifies Richard Brautigan's subversive, comic, poignant vision of America. TROUT FISHING IN AMERICA, his most celebrated work, is part poetry, part prose, all Brautigan--a surreal meditation centering on a dreamer and outsider whose wanderings across America lead him to a series of meditations on life that serve as a bridge between the Beat-generation in which Brautigan came of age, and the tuned-in, turned-on world of the late'60s.
